A tasting like no other and a unique meeting of minds. Whilst cider and rum might seem an unlikely couple you might be surprised at how much they can have in common.
On Friday 30th August 2024 at 3pm at Ross Cider Fest, Albert will be joined by Adam Wells from Renegade Rum to discuss the parallels between natural cider and natural rum and present a (we think!) world first ever blending masterclass. Renegade Rum are on a quest to unearth rum’s most natural flavour. Like us they’re guided by their ingredient – sugar cane – and they’re fascinated by the flavours that they find through different terroirs, heritage varieties and considered, sensitive agriculture. Finally, just as we do with ciders like our Raison d’Être and Shall We Take A Walk Through Time, they explore the ultimate complexities of flavour that come through bringing matured Single Farm Origin rums and cane varieties together in their Cuvée Concepts.
In this talk and tasting we’ll taste a range of Ross-on-Wye Ciders and Renegade Rum, talk about the shared mentalities behind each one, and see how they come together in blends and cuvées.
There may be availability on the day but it will be first come first served. The tasting will feature FIVE rums and two ciders!
