Raison d’Être 2022 – 8.4% – £28.50+VAT 6x75cl
This is the 2022 edition of Raison d’Être. Fiery, intense, complex – this vintage features 90% Dabinett, 10% Bisquet, with a larger barrel fermented component than ever before. The result is a cider with real depth – astoundingly inviting aromatics, a mixture of bittersweet apple, orchard leaves, and smokey oak cask, lead into the most flavoursome Raison ever. Acres of fruit in each sip, filling the midpalate with that classic faux sweetness, before the herbal element of Dabinett softens the mouth for a long, winding tannic finish of gentle bitterness and a touch of astringency. It’s dry, bittersweet cider, just as we love it.

A selection of 6 500ml ciders that showcase the most beautiful and most characterful sides of Ross-on-Wye. All are bittersweet apples fermented either in oak or neutral containers, all matured prior to release. They are ciders that tell a story of place and time. Both in the astounding unique flavour of each bottle but also in the beautiful artworks created by members of our community.
